What it contains
The Question Bank holds 1,494 USMLE-style psychiatry questions written from 120 PsychoPharmRef chapters. Each question has a stem, four answer options, and an explanation. Questions are sorted into 32 numbered categories, for example:
- Diagnostic areas such as schizophrenia spectrum, bipolar and related, depressive, anxiety, trauma- and stressor-related, and neurocognitive disorders
- Treatment areas such as antidepressants and rapid-acting agents, antipsychotics and long-acting injectables, mood stabilizers, and pharmacokinetics, interactions and pharmacogenomics
- Practice areas such as psychiatric emergencies, consultation-liaison psychiatry, special populations, and forensic, ethics and legal issues
- Foundations such as assessment fundamentals, neuroscience and neuroanatomy, and the history of psychopharmacology
How a quiz works
Sign in, choose one or more categories, and start. The tool shows how many questions are available for your selection and draws a random set of up to 15. Answer options are shuffled once when the set is built, so the position of the correct letter cannot be memorized across attempts. Select an answer and submit it to see whether you were right, the explanation, and the source chapter the question was written from. You can step back to earlier questions in the set.
At the end you see your percentage and number correct. You can review your answers, start a new quiz, or take the next set from the same categories without repeating questions already seen in that run.
Feedback on questions
After an answer is revealed, a "Comment on Question" button lets you flag an error or suggest an improvement. Comments are sent to the site author for review.
Who it is for
The bank is aimed at medical students and residents practicing USMLE-style psychiatry questions. Because nearly every question names the chapter it was written from, a missed question also points to the chapter to reread.
